Education

Eric E. Pope graduated from Brother Martin High School in 1991. After high school he attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degrees in English and History in 1995.

While attending Louisiana State University, he was a member of the LSU Honors College and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa society. Eric received his Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University in 1998.

Narrative

Eric was born in New Orleans and raised in Chalmette. After graduating from law school, Eric clerked on the general civil staff of the Third Circuit Court of Appeal in Lake Charles Louisiana. There, he was primarily responsible for civil writ applications. After leaving the Third Circuit, he moved to Baton Rouge where he took a position as in-house counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. While acting as in-house counsel, he handled personal and commercial liability, products liability and workers’ compensation cases; he was also designated as the High Expense Management Attorney for the state, responsible for advising his client regarding high exposure medical claims pending in the state. He has tried cases in various courts throughout the state.

Eric is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana. In addition, he is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern and Middle Districts of Louisiana, as well as the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.nal Affiliations.
