Education
James earned his Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication with a Business Minor, Magna Cum Laude, from Louisiana Tech University in 2000. In 2003, James was awarded his Juris Doctorate from Tulane Law School, where he received honors in the Trial Advocacy Program. While in law school, James clerked for the Honorable Terry Q. Alarcon of the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court and interned for then United States Congressman David Vitter.
Narrative
From 1996-1998, James attended the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida, where he was a NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Freshman All-American and received Florida Tech’s Outstanding Contribution by a New Student Award. In 1998, James transferred to Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, to complete his undergraduate education. While at Tech, James received the President’s Scholarship and the Levert Memorial Scholarship Award for Leadership.
While at Blue Williams, James was the West St. Tammany Director for U.S. Senator David Vitter’s campaign. After litigating at Blue Williams for three years, James served as the Louisiana Medical Mutual Insurance Company’s Risk Management Legal Counsel. As LAMMICO’s Risk Management Legal Counsel, James provided legal and risk management advice to physicians throughout the state of Louisiana. As a long time resident of Mandeville, James decided to return to litigation and continue his legal career in his hometown, where he and his family reside.
