Education
Joseph “Joey” F. LaHatte III graduated from Jesuit High School in 1999. After high school, he attended Louisiana State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems and Decision Sciences in 2003. While attending Louisiana State University, he was on the Dean’s List for Outstanding Academic Achievement and was awarded a Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship in 1999. He was also a member of the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland, playing trumpet. Joey received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University College of Law in 2007. At Loyola, he was an active member of the prestigious Loyola Moot Court Program and was a Finalist Oralist on the 2006 John Marshall Information Technology Team that competed and placed “Runner-Up” in that year’s International Technology Competition in Chicago, Illinois, in defeating over twenty-five other teams from around the world.
Narrative
Joey was born and raised in the New Orleans area. During law school, he clerked for the New Orleans District Attorney’s Office and Blue Williams, L.L.P. He also participated in the Loyola Street Law Program where he taught privileged students specialized legal concepts affecting each student’s way of life at renowned St. Michael’s Special School in New Orleans. He was admitted to the bar in October 2007 and thereafter joined Blue Williams as an Associate. He and his wife Virginia currently reside in Metairie, Louisiana.

Mr. LaHatte is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana. He will soon be admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. In addition, he is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and will soon be a member of the Federal Bar Association.
