Graduated St. Martin’s High School, 1967; BA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, 1971; JD from Loyola University of N.O., 1974. Member of Dr. Brendan F. Brown International Moot Court Team and Loyola Law School Clinic Program. First student practitioner to argue before the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Narrative

Mr. Brockman has enjoyed a wide range of experience, most of which has been in the area of casualty defense. From 1975-1978, he served as an assistant district attorney in Orleans Parish. He was employed as an in-house litigation attorney by Shell Oil Company from 1986-1993, specializing in allision claims, brownwater seaman claims and premise liability matters. He also consulted with business groups within the company about various litigation related matters such as indemnity clauses, hazardous substance communications and accident investigation and reporting. He has represented several clients in asbestos related claims, including manufacturers, distributors and equipment designers and engineers. In addition, he has defended automobile, legal malpractice, construction contract and first party insurance claims.

Mr. Brockman is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Jefferson Parish Bar Association and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He is admitted to practice in all State and Federal courts in Louisiana and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Brockman holds an B/V® Peer Review Rated certification mark from Martindale-Hubbell.
