Successions

Our attorneys handle all aspects of the probate process, including the drafting of succession documents to appoint the executor/administrator, the filing of the will, the preparation of a sworn descriptive list containing all assets owned by the decedent and their date of death value, and the petition and judgment of possession which places the heirs into possession of the estate assets. We will also prepare the Louisiana Inheritance Tax Return and Federal Estate Tax Return if requested, as well as oversee the collection of non-probate assets such as life insurance and retirement account proceeds. We also represent estates and trusts with regard to litigated or contested issues, which may arise.
